A friend of mine asked me to draw her. This is what I came up with.
Don’t worry, shes not really a homeless person. But I didn’t want to draw anything just because someone asked me to draw one. I wanted it to have a meaning. I’m calling this one homeless because not everyone has a home. True, you may live in a house but is that enough to say that you have a home?
That’s what I wanted to show in this illustration. A house-like box with a hollowed heart is chained to her wrist, symbolizing that even though she has a house, its not a home. Her house feels empty, like a gap in a wall that has to be filled but is left alone.
Drawn on primer paper, I used colored pencils to complete the illustration. I also used one fo shortpinay’s illustration as a reference photo.
